This professional portfolio introduces me and takes you through my professional journey so far as a teacher, administrator and an emerging leader. In this portfolio, I have illustrated my philosophy on Education and leadership. I have also been able to chalk out and present to you my vision and the plan to achieve.

The artifacts included are samples of my work which were produced in collaboration of a strong team that I always managed to have.

This compilation of my work has made me reflect back and I am amazed to see how far I have come, how I have evolved over the years to the Learner Cum Educator I am, now.

This portfolio also shows me the path that lies in front of me to walk on and the challenges I have to create and overcome.

I already have a feeling that the journey ahead is going to be an exciting and eventful one .

My Philosophy of Education

I believe that every student is unique and special and that they all have their innate ability to learn. It is our responsibility as educators to nurture and develop every student to their maximum potential and assist them to become life long learners, as well as helping them to a be happy, self-directed, realistic and responsible decision makers when solving problems that they will encounter in our multi-cultural, ever changing world.

My Philosophy of Leadership

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision in to reality.

I believe it is the ability to empower others; a strong leader finds strength in others and builds them up.

I have firmly felt over the years that leader aren’t born they are made, just like anything else, though hard work, perseverance and with the ability to constantly improve one self.

My vision for a school

I visualize a school where happiness and empathy is everyone’s priority; where teachers, students, parents and everyone else who is part of school, collaborate to make decisions. As a team we create spaces where we learn from each other and we work together to solve common challenges and keep moving towards betterment.

Our aim should be to become a quality reference in early childhood education for facilitating the children in their holistic development -where learners excel in their endeavours and are inspired to continue learning in future.

My vision for a teacher

Teachers are passionate, skilled professionals whose focus is effectively engaging students ensuring their learning, and shaping their development.

Learnability is the most essential skill of the time so the development goes hand in hand. Any time that a teacher aim to learn about new educational theories and practices, they are able to become more effective teacher.

The world of education ever changing and our interconnectedness is ever increasing. New theories and practices come and change the way we see Education. Without learning of these challenges, we cannot discover the superior us. In order to become a more effective teacher, it is essential that we determine for ourselves, how those new theories and practices can be used to advantage our students to become the future leaders of the society.

My vision for curriculum, instruction and assessment

While designing the curriculum, I keep in mind that the curriculum

  • Is designed keeping age specific milestones in mind.
  • Emphasizes on activity based, hands on learning which is engaging, joyful still effective for young learners.
  • Is being created for 21st century learner,we effectively use the technology available.
  • Is practical, functional and relevant. It prepares the learners for the formal education and assessment.
  • Is devised in such a manner that it is comprehensive yet flexible enough to adapt to the teaching styles, classroom environment and new challenges in education.

Assessment and learning goes hand in hand, it is to be used as a tool to gather and provide teachers with the information about the child’s development and growth.

The assessment conducted should be providing the teachers and school with the timely and relevant feedback as to where the curriculum plan can be improved.
